Boris Johnson says cheese and coffee can distract when working from home...
Well if you know me well, you'll know that I take it one step further, and regularly work from a coffee shop.
If anything, it aids my productivity, is just as energising and actually stimulates just as many, if not more ideas than if I were in an office.
When events were cancelled due to covid, (even my 'work do's') , I set up an online community of people on a pursuit to help with productivity.
It's a small bunch of creative types, who all 'work from home', and if results are anything to go by, they are most definitely productive.
There's no cheese in sight.
All of the members are making incredible progress because of three simple things;
They’ve defined a repeatable task that predictably leads them to the result they want
They’ve got the collective wisdom of others on a similar pursuit.
It's as simple...
A few people have been asking what I'm up to in these crazy times ...
So I thought I'd give you a break down summary of the various things I'm working on, right now...
The Big Local Night Out
This is by far the main focus of my time and energy right now and I couldn't be more excited at the potential that is emerging! Piloted in Doncaster, with my friends Ian and Alyson Mayer from Manna Community CIC , The Big Local Night Out is a locally based, nationally replicated, high quality, series of arts events for schools and communities.
Alongside Doncaster, we've now confirmed a new location in Warwick, and have positive conversations in a number of other areas, including Westminster, Colchester & Manchester.
The idea is simple; to bring a number of community organisations together, from a range of sectors including commercial, civic, educational and charitable, to host a number of events that bring joy,...
It's been far too long since I had any decent video footage of my show.
In March 2020, I recognised the desperate need for new footage and so I had an Edinburgh Fringe preview show all booked and a film crew at the ready.
Then Covid disrupted everything. My whole career, in fact.
And so I'm delighted to have now booked in a new date to record my show. The footage will be edited down to a brand new showreel.
Working with Blandford Community Promotions, I'll be performing my touring show, 'Oh My Days' at the Corn Exchange in Blandford Forum, Dorset on Saturday 25th June.
Do come along, bring friends and be ready to share the showreel when it's released!
Live big,
Tom
